Building toward a broader future

See Like Me is part of a larger story at the Saint Louis Zoo. As the Zoo grows its future campus and conservation work, this event helps us imagine a more welcoming experience for visitors who are blind or visually impaired.

The Zoo’s planned WildCare Park expansion will open new ways to experience wildlife, conservation, and public access in the years ahead. We see this event as a bridge between today’s community connection and tomorrow’s expanded visitor experience.

Register for See Like Me

Hello, community members!

The Saint Louis Zoo has partnered again with The Sight Collective to host “See Like Me” on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 10a.m. to 2p.m. (Link: https://stlzoo.org/events/see-like-me.)

“See Like Me” is a day to educate all Zoo guests on the unique ways species “see” and how vision and senses differ among animals. We will incorporate tactile and sensory experiences and activities. There will also be a resource fair located in The Living World with representatives from organizations servicing the blind, visually impaired and deaf communities.

While it’s free to attend the Zoo and participate in the community resource fair, if you’re an individual who is blind or visually impaired and you want to experience the special sensory experiences with Zoo staff, we strongly encourage you to register. There is limited space in several Zoo locations and for these activities. To offer the most ideal sensory experience for our blind guests, we have set a registration limit. Event registration is specifically for the person who is visually impaired.

Thank you for understanding.

Planning to attend with a group of 15 or more? Please do not complete an individual registration for each member of your group. Instead, have your school, organization, or group’s primary contact email DEAI@stlzoo.org with the organization name, primary contact information, and anticipated number of attendees so our team can coordinate your visit directly.

Individuals, families, and groups of fewer than 15 may use this registration form.

Do you identify as DeafBlind?
Will you bring a family member, aide or Support Service Provider (SSP) with you? Please note that this individual will be considered your “plus one” for the event.

Service Animal / Animal Experience Notice for Registrants

Service animals are welcome at See Like Me; however, for animal safety and welfare, service dogs cannot accompany guests into the giraffe feeding or flamingo feeding areas. Both giraffes and flamingos may react to the presence of dogs. Guests accompanied by service dogs are still welcome to participate in the other See Like Me activities and experiences. To read our Service Animal guidelines visit https://stlzoo.org/visit/visiting-guidelines, which also have a map for service animal relief areas and water fountains for your service animal.

For the flamingo experience, Destination Discovery keepers will also be available to meet individually with guests who cannot enter the feeding area with their service dog. Guests will still have an opportunity to speak directly with a keeper, learn about the flamingos, and ask questions.

Will you be attending the12:30p Private Penguin & Puffin Coast Experience?
Will you be attending the 1:30p Private Stingray Experience?
Will you need transportation to the Zoo? If yes, contact your Sight Collective participating organization for transportation options to the event.
